No matter how well you can—or think you can—shoot, you need to be able to take care of your rifle. And too, the now common practice of installing an aftermarket trigger can often help you shoot better than you already do. Some shooters and hunters never take their rifles apart but it’s something you need to know how to do because cleaning, servicing, and potentially upgrading your rifle is part of being a rifleman. When you’re done you must assemble your rifle and it’s critical that you get the stock installed properly. Part of that job is making sure your action screws are torqued with the correct amount of force. If not, your rifle might not shoot as well as it used to.
