In September I worked with Gunsite Academy to develop a training course to specifically address what hunters heading out on safari need to know. This three day class is now a reality and will only be taught by Gunsite Academy instructors who have hunted in Africa. It’s scheduled for 13, 14, and 15 February 2024, right before safari season begins, and I’ll be there to lend a hand and share the things I’ve learned while hunting in Africa over the last two decades.
If you are headed to Africa soon, and especially if this will be your first safari, this is training you need. Too many times I’ve seen first timers in Africa fail to zero their rifle correctly, struggle with shooting sticks, not place shots correctly and follow through, and safely and efficiently manage their rifle while carrying it through the bush. But most importantly, they do not know how to properly interface and communicate with their professional hunters. This course will address all those things, plus hunting with a suppressor.
If you’re interested in participating, click HERE to register. If you’re interested in joining me in Africa between in March or April 2024, comment or reach out by e-mail. I have several safaris planned in multiple provinces.
There are only 12 slots available in this course and six are already filled. Four of the attendees are outdoor writers preparing for their first safari and two of the attendees are the first two Premium Subscribers at the EmptyCases Substack. They’ll all be using a new Patriot rifle from Mossberg, a new suppressor from Silencer Central, ammunition from Lehigh Defense, and shooting supports from Spartan Precision Equipment. Industry representatives from several of these companies will be on hand to demonstrate their products and answer questions. Then, in April, these six hunters will join me in Africa for a five-day plains game safari using the gear they trained with.
The attending Premium Subscribers also get to keep the rifle and bunch of gear that’s being provide. Participation in exclusive training and hunting opportunities like this, along with free, discounted, or exclusive gear, are some of the perks to being an EmptyCases Substack Premium Subscriber.
