I’ve been wondering, how precise, accurate do you think a lever action rifle can be, mechanically speaking.

Generally, a well-made modern, traditional tube-fed lever action rifle will usually put five shots inside two inches from a bench rest at 100 yards. I've tested a few that would consistently shoot inside 1.5 inches with the loads they liked. There have been a few rare examples that shot even better, especially for three shots.
